Street Locator

As it says below, this is NOT a map! -- just a rough sketch prepared in conjunction with GO-Van Buren's townwide yard sale.  But it may help you find your way around town by showing the sequence of streets running off Main Street/US1; if need be, ask which of these streets your destination runs off of, so you'll know the general direction to head for.

Fairwell Gayety!

It's often said that all good things have to come to an end sometime . . . and so we say a fond fairwell to our long-time good friend, Robin's Restaurant.  Van Buren will never be the same.

Over the years, Robin's has been there for us, not only as a restaurant (often as the only one open downtown) but in times gone by as a movie theater, and for decades as a frequent free-of-charge meeting place for civic organizations.  They have served us well indeed, and will be sorely missed.

What do you recall from those years?  What memories of good times?  What can you tell young folks and newcomers about the old black-&-white movies played there, even with just a piano player to provide sound before 'talkies' came along?  All those vintage movie posters and household memorabilia dislpayed so casually spoke silently of Van Buren's history -- can you add a voice?

What comments would you like to add about this loss? Let's not allow Robin's passing to go unnoticed; send a word (or paragraphs!) to, and we'll post them here.  AND if you have any photos (or know where we could find some), please sent them along, too.
